​2027 Annual Meeting

 

The 2027 MN Prescribed Fire Council Annual Meeting will be held Wednesday, January 6th at St. John's University in St. Joseph. The meeting will be the full day with a 9am start with lunch and refreshments provided. This event aims to bring together a diversity of fire practitioners, academics, and enthusiasts to network, share knowledge, and resources. 

 

What: 2027 MN Prescribed Fire Conference

When: Wednesday, January 6

Where: St. John's University in St. Joseph, MN

 

Come for the morning presentations and afternoon field trip but stay for the MN-PFC business meeting and social.

Suggested contributions are flash talks (3-5 minute presentations), short-form presentations (10-20 minutes), long-form or keynote presentations (45-60 min), art or music (15-30 min), or interactive activity/discussion (60-90 min). Topics of interest may include but are not limited to:

• Prescribed fire project highlights

• Fire effects studies and observations 

• Prescribed fire tactics and strategies

• Community engagement with prescribed fire

• Intersections of prescribed fire and art

• Cultural connections with fire

• Current issues

• Updates on state-wide or national initiatives and policies

• Fire-dependent species and ecosystems highlights
